Sliding Glass Door Contemporary Handle 

Thanks to your feedback on the current contemporary handle, we are releasing a new version:

• The new offset handle prevents hand interference with frame jambs
• It is interchangeable with the former contemporary handle
• Available on all the same series and configurations as the former handle: SGD670/770, SGD680/780, and SGD5470/5570
• Starting Monday, August 5, 2019, all orders placed will ship with this new design
• Contemporary handle warranty claims will be replaced with the new style

Aluminum Casement and Awning: New Operator and Handle

Our supplier retired the Aluminum Casement and Awning operator, which presented a great opportunity to align aluminum and vinyl products. 

• This new operator features a folding nesting handle
• Available on CA640/740 and AW640/740
• Introducing three new color options:
  • Brushed Nickel, Antique Brass, and Oil Rubbed Bronze - List price is $75 per vent
• Starting Monday, August 5, 2019, all orders placed will ship with this new design
• Aluminum Casement and Awning operator warranty claims will be replaced with the new style
• Replacement handles are available for warranty claims (folding and T-handles only)

With this in mind, the last take order date for all ClassicVue™ products will occur on December 20, 2019. We are dedicated to helping you complete your current projects as smoothly as possible, and this date will allow you to plan for the remainder of this year.

Effective July 1, 2019, EnergyShield Low-E will no longer be offered in glass make-ups where the Low-E is in contact with the laminated glass interlayer. 

EnergyShield Low-E will be available in ClearQuote through June 30, 2019 to help you finish your existing projects.

What Are My Options?

In terms of future projects, you will be prompted to select either EnergyShield Max or laminated-insulating glass from May 20 to June 30, 2019.

You have been requesting more energy-efficient products for your customers, and we are proud to announce a new process that will help enhance energy performance on all WinGuard® Aluminum and Vinyl products when you order laminated-insulating glass with tint and Low-E together.

Today, our process is to place the tinted pieced of glass on the second surface and the Low-E on the fourth surface. On May 20, we will offer the option for you to select Low-E on the second surface when you order laminated-insulating glass with tint and Low-E together. 

The new process improves energy performance by placing the Low-E adjacent to the airspace and on the second surface where optimal energy performance is gained.  

Additional benefits include the following:

• Reduces heat build up between the panes of glass
• Minimizes the risk of thermal breaks
• Aligns with the industry and allows you to mix and match PGT Innovations Family of Brands’ products

New Orders Beginning on September 30, 2019

Our goal is to help you complete existing projects with the current process of Low-E on the fourth surface. With this in mind, you can select either configuration from May 20, 2019 to September 29, 2019. 

Starting on September 30, Low-E on the second surface of laminated-insulating glass with tint and Low-E together will become the standard manufacturing process.
